Flower Christmas

I hope you all had a great weekend! I wish I could say I did. I think I got food poisoning because Saturday I was sick all day. Not a fun feeling at all!!

Anyway...on to my card share for the day. Again, this card was copied from someone on Splitcoast, and I didn't get the name. This is a different size and was a little work. It requires a blender pen and stamp pads. Luckily, the image isn't huge. I don't think I will be making too many of these. I'm all about being simple.

Come back tomorrow as I share another technique. Just when you think you are running out of techniques, new one pop up all the time. Don't miss it!

Happy stamping!

Baroque Christmas

Here is card #3 from my Christmas SAS. Now, I did end up using a non-Christmas stamp set for this card except for the greeting. This card uses the Baroque Motifs stamp set. I love this set. When I first saw this set, it wasn't a favorite but after seeing so many things done with it I wanted it. So about a year later, I finally purchased my own set after borrowing from other demos.

I copied the card from someone on Splitcoast. Again, I didn't get the name of the person...so sorry! This is a very elegant and easy card. I got a little too close to the edge when I stamped the greeting so when I scanned it in, it looks like it was cut off but it isn't. I just got a little to close.

I hope you'll come back next week as I have two more cards to share and hopefully, a couple of new projects.

Seasons of Joy

Here is card #2 from my Christmas SAS. This is the one set I did end up buying. I had been eyeing this one since the last holiday mini but never did get it.

I did copy the idea for the card from Michele Force. She does some great stuff. She is a Texas native...in Allen. Check out her website. You will love her stuff.

As you know, I'm all about keeping it simple, and I love that this card does. Not very much to it. I did try using the small grosgrain but I liked the look of the wide. Then, I wanted to stay away from the traditional Christmas colors so I thought these colors worked well tomorrow. Come back tomorrow for some more card ideas.

I did forget to tell you about one more special SU! is offering. In celebration of Stampin' Up!'s twentieth anniversary, spend $20 on any Stampin' Up! product and get 20 percent off any stamp set from the Fall-Winter Sampler--no limit! Choose from any of the stamp sets below:

Christmas

I did a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack about a month ago. This was one of the cards I did. My goal for this SAS was to not purchase any Christmas sets but use what I have...even the non-Christmas ones. I didn't have any current Christmas sets so I did end up buying one set. This card uses a non-Christmas set - Priceless. I also used the 5-petal flower to make the poinsettia. I actually copied this from someone off of Splitcoast and I can't remember who.

This is very easy card to make, and I bet these would be easy to do in mass if you wanted to send out handmade Christmas cards this year. Come back tomorrow and see another design.

Technique Tuesday

Today's technique is a fun and simple one. It's called Smackin' Acetate. It doesn't require much to do it at all.

Scribble markers on acetate. If you don’t have a marker handy, try a blender pen and reinkers. Spray water on the acetate. For a fine mist, hold the bottle about 6 inches away and spray a couple of times. Place acetate on neutral cardstock. Rub your finger over the acetate to spread the water mixture. Let cardstock dry. Stamp image on cardstock.

This makes a great masculine card...even if you decided not to do the technique. You could use a brown for the trees. Thanks for stopping by!

Frame

When the name frames came out, they were so popular because they are so easy. Not only can you put names in there but you can put any type of phrase. These are probably the easiest and personalized things to make. Plus this is a good and fast way to use up that designer paper you have. I know that I have lots to use up.

I did this awhile ago for a swap. I think the hodgepodge adds so much to the frame. I got the frame at Walmart. These are the usual size I have been doing but I've done a 5x7 before. I used Afternoon Tea from one of the minis and the letterpress alphabet set that is now retired.

Take time to stamp something today!

Technique Tuesday

Good afternoon stampers!

Sorry I have been MIA for the past few days. I wish I could say I've been doing some productive things like stamping but I haven't. Anyway...

Today's technique is one I haven't heard of or seen much of. It is faux stained glass. There is not much to this technique.

Stamp an outline image repeatedly on Whisper White cardstock using a waterproof ink such as Stazon, purposely overlapping the images. Color in the overlapping areas. A blender pen works well for this. Optional: Color in the background and /or the rest of the images in different colors.Variation: Use glossy cardstock and color with markers.

To see more samples of this technique, go to Splitcoast and you'll see some. You may even see a version of this card. I wish I could say I come up with these layouts on my own.

I'm working on a couple of classes for the next couple of months - my holiday stamp-a-stack in November and a calendar class in December (just in time for Christmas). Come back and check out the details later.

Technique Tuesday

Today's technique is Pastel Embossing. This technique combines embossing and chalk pastels. It's pretty easy to do.

Ink stamp in VersaMark and stamp onto the cardstock. Pour white embossing powder over the stamped image and heat the image with a heat tool until fully melted. Once the image has cooled, use a blender pen to pick up the desired pastel colors. Apply directly to the embossed image. It’s best to start with the lightest color and work to the darkest. It’s easy to add more color and depth this way. Continue adding colors until you reach your desired look. Let the cardstock dry a few minutes before handling. Apply to card and finish card. Not much to it at all!

Punches

I had the opportunity to attend my best friend and fellow demo, Darla Paugh's hostess club meeting. She started her first one Tuesday and we got to play with the punches.

These are just some of the stuff we made. She had about 8 items to make which included a coffee cup, frog, pumpkins, and apples that had been eaten. They were fun and cute! I didn't get to all of them so this is just what I made. There are so many things you can make with SU! punches. This is just a small portion.

If you want details on how these were made, contact me and I'll get them for you.

Happy stamping!!

Techniques Tuesday?

Well, I started this post yesterday and didn't get to finish it. So you're technique Tuesday is now Technique Wednesday this week.

Today's technique is dry debossing...not to confuse this with dry embossing. What's different about this is you do is just like you were going to dry emboss by laying your cardstock over the template and start tracing the open areas of your template with your stylus.

What you do next is ink up your background stamp. With the raised images facing down, stamp the background stamp over it. The ink won’t stay on your debossed image, leaving it the same color as the cardstock. At least that's what is suppose to happen. I did get a little ink on the debossed images. It's something different.

I hope that you will make plans to attend my World Card Making Day event, 10 cards for $10. I'll be teaming up with my friend and fellow demo, Sheri Scudder. You will stamp 2 cards of 5 different designs. The event is Saturday, October 4 at Sheri's house. Address and info is located on my SU! website. I hope to see you there!

Another Embrace

I spent the majority of the evening last night getting my projects ready for tonight's techniques class. For the first time, I've got everything cut, packed and ready to go. I can actually go home and rest before my class tonight. I can't wait!!! I'm counting the hours until quitting time today!

After getting my projects done, I was able to do another card. Not much to this one. I've got one more to do than I will show you the completed the project. I also hope to work on some other projects plus go through all my retired stamp sets and purge those I'm not using anymore. I'll be selling those so be watching out for the next post that will hopefully have pictures.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you find time to stamp something!

Embrace Life

Still working on my cards for my card box and here is another card I came up with.

It definitely needs some color added to it. I just wasn't in the creative mood last night and it was midnight when I finished this so I just put it together before I went to bed.

I've got two more cards to put together. Once I get those done, I'll show you them plus the box I made to put them in.

I hope to work on a couple of other projects this weekend so I'll have something new to share with you next week. I'll be busy tonight getting my projects ready for my techniques class tomorrow night. Nothing like waiting to the last minute!!

Birthday Card

Sorry I didn't post yesterday's technique. I thought I had the card with me, and then later found out I didn't. Sorry! I'll make up for it by posting two techniques next Tuesday.

I actually got a chance to do some stamping last night. I'm trying to use up some of my old designer paper so I played with the Ginger Blossom paper and Embrace Life stamp set. I'm working on a card box (which I will show you later) but here is one of the cards that will be going into it. I'm working on about 3 more to go in the box. I hope to get them done tonight.

I also had a chance to work on another project but I've got to get pictures of it and download them. Once I get that done, I will share with you. I think you are going to love it!!

I've also got to get ready for my techniques class this Friday evening. I've got the projects designed in my mind...I've just got to get them done now.

Coming up is National Cardmaking Day! I bet you didn't know such a day existed!! On Saturday, October 4th, I will be teaming up with a fellow demo, Sheri, and we will be hosting a 10 for $10 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at her home. You will make 2 cards of 5 designs. You may even donate a card or two to the Ronald McDonald house in Dallas. This will be a come and go event, and I hope you make plans to join us. It will be a fun time! For address info, check out my website.

Flower for All Seasons

Well, I worked on my swap card a little this weekend. I didn't have enough ribbon to finish them with a knot so I had to come up with something different to do. Although I like the look of this, I don't love it. I think it needs something else but I'm done playing with it. I did do a little sponging on the edges on the blue piece even though you can't really see it. I'm glad this is done. It was only 62 cards but it was very time consuming.

I hope you'll come back tomorrow for Technique Tuesday.

Lovely As A Tree

Well, I didn't get a chance to work on my swap card last night. I played with another card design.

I always have a hard time with masculine cards. The only thing I don't like about it is the color. I think it needs another color in there besides the browns. Masculine cards are always hard for me because I tend to say with the neutral colors. I'm a simple stamper but I think this is too simple. I think it needs something else.

I didn't put any type of greeting so this is ready to go for any event. I bought my hodgepodge hardware before they were discontinued. Now I've got to use them up.

Hope you all don't get too much rain this weekend. Stay inside and do some stamping. I know I will!

A Flower for All Seasons

I purchased a new set from the catalog recently and decided to play with it. I bought this set for another swap I'm participating in. It reminds me of the set in last year's catalog, A Tree for All Seasons. I'm liking this new set a lot.

This is one design I came up with. I think it needs something so I'm working on another design. I'll show that one tomorrow. Of course when I picked this set I didn't think about all the coloring I would have to do. I have to do 62 cards!! I'm watercoloring these so it's taking some time. I hope to have them finished tonight. Wish me luck!

I also added some crystal effects on the flowers and on the pot to make it look like dew. This was a suggestion from Darla. I don't know if you can see it in the photo or not but it's there.

I hope you enjoy the card share today. I always enjoy sharing them with you. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Lovely As A Tree

One of the hardest type of cards to design are masculine cards. At least they are for me. Finding the right colors isn't too bad. It's when it comes to embellishments, I tend to question whether or not ribbon is good on a card or not. I need to start using buttons and brads. You can never go wrong with those type of embellishments.

To help me with more masculine designs, I joined a swap. Here is the card I came up with. I'm not too sure about the ribbon but it helps having the hemp in there.

I was going to do something with the trees but the technique I was going to do on it didn't come out too good. I didn't want to waste all the pieces I cut out for the swap. It's not the best but I think it came out pretty good.

I hope you enjoy today's card share, and I hope you come back tomorrow.

Good afternoon ladies!!

I don't have anything to share for Technique Tuesday but did want to let you know that the online ordering is now officially up!

What does this mean? Well, if you would like to order Stampin' Up! products and you don't have a demonstrator to order through, you can now order through me and it will be shipped directly to you. You can go to my website and in the upper right hand corner is a "Shop Now" button. All you have to do is set up your account and you can shop online. You could gather orders from your friends and get the benefits too.

Say you're up late at night and looking through the catalog and you realize that you need to order some product to make cards, scrapbooking pages, decor elements, Big Shot...anything and you need to get them sooner than later you can now order it all online and it will show up on YOUR DOORSTEP.

Also, there's a prompt to ask you who you're demonstrator is and if I'm your demonstrator or you don't have a demonstrator and you select me, you'll be helping me too! So, take a look at the site and if you have any questions please feel free to email me, and I'll be happy to help you out.

I'll be back tomorrow! Happy stamping!!

Heartfelt Thanks

Today's card share is a very simple one. Sometimes I can get caught up in the embellishments and forget sometimes a simple card is just as pretty.

I used colors that I don't use much. I thought it came together really well. This uses the stamp set Heartfelt Thanks. This has been in the catalog for some time, and I really thought it would retire this catalog year. Well, at least it will be around until the end of the year.

Have a good weekend, and I hope you will find time to stamp something.

Card Organizer

I had a chance to participate in a craft swap Friday night. So, of course, I waited until the last minute to think of something to make. I always have a hard time coming up with something to make. I remembered that I had seen this card organizer on several blogs. This was very easy to make. There are many different versions.

What I did with these was take 6 sheets of 2 sided designer paper. This paper was in our last mini. I scored them at 4 inches and folded those. Then I folded the sheets in half. This is how I got the pockets. I then glued the calendars on to the pockets. I got the calendars from splitcoast. For the front and back covers, I cut 2 pieces just slightly larger than the pockets. (I don't remember what I cut them too.) I then glued them to chipboard to make them sturdier. I then used my crop-a-dile to punch holes and then I added brads to the front cover only. I inserted a key ring and added ribbons. There are so many ways to put these together.

What I like about this is that the calendars are not month dates but just dates so this is good for as long as it lasts.

I hope you enjoyed the project for today. It was an easy one. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy stamping!!

Technique Tuesday

OK stampers! It has been awhile since I last posted anything. Sorry for that!

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. I did. It was nice to sleep in and not have to about work. Anyway...enough small talk...on to our technique.

Today's technique is cracked glass. It is very hard to see in this but the image is suppose to look like cracked glass. It doesn't require a lot of work but there are a lot of steps involved so you can check out a tutorial at the splitcoaststampers website. The tutorial calls for use of the glassy glaze embossing powder. If you don't have that one, you can use clear embossing powder which is what I did. I think I would have gotten a better effect using the glassy glaze. Oh well...live and learn.

Stamp Set: Embrace Life
Cardstock: River Rock, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, Ginger Blossom DSP

Come back tomorrow because I have a really cute project to share.

Card Share

Sorry I've been neglecting you all. I've been getting ready for my class tonight plus I've been sick. It's no fun being sick plus trying to get ready for a class. All I want to do is sleep!!

Today's card share uses a hostess set from our last catalog. I like how this stamp set can be very versatile. This card could almost use any sentiment you want to use with it.

Technique Tuesday

I apologize for not posting the last couple of days. I really haven't had anything new to share. I guess that should be my incentive to get busy.

Today's technique is the magic card. This is another one of those fun cards. It's funny watching people trying to figure it out.

This is what the card looks like before the magic. You can see the finished product below. You might have to click on the picture to get a better view of it.

This card takes time and patience. There are a few steps involved. You will play with a lot of tools in the process. You will need an image that needs to be colored in. There is a great tutorial on the Splitcoaststampers website. When you get there, go to resources and find magic card. If you decide to try one yourself, I would love to see your creation.

The tutorial on Splitcoast will show you pictures along with step-by-step directions.

Ink: Perfect Plum, Black Stazon, Pastels
Accessories: Stampa-ma-jig, Blender Pens, Oval Coluzzle, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1/8" Hole Punch, Silver Eyelets, White Tafetta Ribbon, Transparencies

This Friday night is my monthly techniques class in Kaufman. If you are in the area, I would love to have you join us. Check out my website for more info. If it isn't close to you, I would love to start one in your area. Contact me today! There class would be free for you.

As promised, here is the "ta-da"!! I hope you enjoy it, and try one for yourself.

Last Tart & Tangy

I'm sure you all must be getting tired of looking at this set but this is the last card I will share for a little while.

This was a fun card to make. I don't know if you can tell from the picture or not but the bottom of the strawberry looks like it was dipped in chocolate. The top part of the strawberry was colored with Regal Rose and the bottom half in Chocolate Chip. Then crystal effects was put on the bottom to give it the glossy look. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

The ribbon used is the satin ribbon sold in our last holiday mini. I wish this had made it into the catalog.

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy, Polka Dot Background
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip markers and Chocolate Chip stamp pad
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

Enjoy and happy stamping!!

Regarding the Online Catalog

Nothing new to share today but I do have something to share.

Many of you may have already realized this, but the online catalog is not loading quickly and doesn’t look the same. In order to view it, you have to download a large .pdf file and that can take a bit of time. But this is only temporary… read this statement made to us today by Stampin’ Up!

“…the new Online Ordering system will take the place of the online catalog you’re used to seeing. During the interim period between the release of the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog and the release of Online Ordering, the online catalog has been replaced with a PDF version that can be downloaded and viewed. This is a temporary solution that allows online access to the catalog until Online Ordering is available.

We are working to decrease the document’s download time on our end, but because of file size and significant download traffic, it may take some time to download. When you do download the document, make sure to save it to your hard drive so that you do not have to download it again.

Thanks for your patience as we work to bring you a fantastic new Online Ordering system!”

So, the bulky .pdf file is only temporary - and it’s online replacement will be outstanding! If you would like to purchase your own copy, please email me and I will get one out to you!

Please come back tomorrow for a new card.

Happy stamping!!!

Technique Tuesday

Today's technique is called the Iris Twist. I like the way this looks but I don't think I would be able to do a bunch of these. Iris Twist is a paper folding technique taken from the old fashioned Iris Folding technique from Europe. It looks difficult but once you do one, it very easy to make more. Follow this tutorial from Splitcoaststampers and it will give you the pattern to download and step-by-step directions with pictures.

Be sure and try this technique and then send me your creation. I would love to post it here on my blog.

Technique Tuesday

Today's technique is paper tole. Paper tole is creating an 3-D image by using 2-5 copies of your image by cutting out different parts.

Stamp background images including focal point image. Stamp extra focal point image on a scrap of cardstock and trim. For extra dimension, shape with fingers. Mount with glue dot. Add additional layers of images or partial images if desired.

This stamp doesn't have many layers but if you have more than 2, it is pretty neat looking. You can't really tell from the picture but on this card, the middle part of the flower was cut out separately and then mounted on top of the original image.

Stamp Set: Embrace Life, Holidays & Wishes
Cardstock: Coral Cameo, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink: Coral Cameo, Sage Shadow, Black Stazon
Accessories: Blender Pens, Silver Brads, 1/16" Hole Punch, White Taffeta Ribbon

I'm excited about this new Stampin' Up! year. SU! is moving ahead in new things. Be on the lookout as online ordering becomes available and then the big news about the Big Shot. So much happening!!

Big News!!

I just heard from other convention goers that Stampin' Up! is teaming up with Sizzix to offer the Big Shot die-cut machine. With the Sizzix Big Shot and dies from Stampin' Up!, you can create die-cut shapes, envelopes, and tags. Be on the lookout for more information about this new product coming soon.

This week will be the last week you can order any of the retiring items. If you plan on ordering any of the retired items, please get me your order by Friday. I would hate for you to miss out on your favorite set retiring!

Today's card share is an invitation I did for my nephew. He will be turning 2 on Friday! I can't believe how time flies. My sister asked me to make his invitation and his favorite person this year has been Elmo. I had no idea what I was going to do. I didn't want to buy a stamp because this would probably be the only time I would use it. Stickers cost too much so I found some samples of Elmos using our punches. I think he came out pretty cute. Luckily I had some help with all the punching and putting together of him because it would have taken me a while to do it myself. Thanks Steve and Jessica for your help!!

Stamp Sets: Hugs & Wishes, Eat Cake
Cardstock: Yoyo Yellow, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, Black, Whisper White
Ink: Ballet Blue, Black
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punch, Regular Hole Punch

Are you ready for the new catalog? I know that I am!!! I haven't seen it yet but I am patiently waiting. If you ordered one, I'll let you know when I get it.

Happy stamping!!

Online Ordering?

Things are pretty quiet. I don't have a card to share today but I did want to share some news with you about SU!

Sometime in the fall, online ordering will be available. You will be able to purchase through the website or on my SU! website. This is exciting news! As I understand, many demonstrators have been asking for this so the folks at SU! have listened. As more information becomes available, I will let you know.

Have a great weekend, and happy stamping!!

Tart & Tangy 2

Not much to share today except I've been seeing a lot of cute stuff from the new catalog. There are some very cute designer papers. Be on the lookout for a new paper club because once you see these papers, you will want one of each. I know that I do!!! I am in so much trouble because there are so many things I want in the new catalog. HELP!! On to today's card share...

Again, I used the Tart & Tangy stamp set. This is one set I didn't purchase but I've seen a lot of cute things done with it. The ribbon used on this card made it into the new catalog.

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Black, Whisper White, Summer Picnic Designer Paper
Ink: Garden Green and Real Red markers
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Real Red Striped Ribbon

Something I did forget to tell you yesterday is that I heard that the new stamp sets are die cut! What does that mean? No more cutting stamps out! I'm sure that will make some of you happy!!

Take a moment to stamp a card today! Happy stamping!!

Tart & Tangy

Afternoon stampers!!

This week is a big week for SU! SU! celebrates 20 years and beginning today kicks off the annual convention. SU! demonstrators from all over the US are at Salt Lake City, Utah today. I've been a demo for 3 years and haven't made it yet. I've already seen a few of the new stuff and the cover of the new catalog. As a demo, we get to preview a few sets and see some of the new accessories. I've seen at least 5 new punches and I'm so excited about them. Next year, my goal is to make it to convention. I say that every year but I want to make it happen this year.

This card was made using the Tart & Tangy set from the last mini. I am happy to say that this set made it into the new catalog along with the designer paper.

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy, Wonderful Words
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Whisper White, Summer Picnic DSP
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Old Olive
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punch

If you ordered a new catalog, I will get it to you as soon as I get them. I'm so excited to see the new catalog and all the new stuff. If you didn't reserve your copy of the new catalog, it's not too late. Just let me know you want one, and I'll put one aside for you.

Thank you for making this past stamping year fun. I look forward to stamping more with you. Happy stamping!!!

Technique Tuesday

Today's technique is misting with markers. This technique uses waterbased markers to add multiple colors and a watercolored look to an image.

With stamp rubber side up, color the image with a marker. It’s helpful to start with the lightest color first. Continue to color your image with other colored markers until the entire image is colored. Spray the image with water mist bottle. The more you spray, the more the ink will run when you stamp. Hint: Hold the stamp in one hand and the misting bottle in the other, with hands about 12" apart. Spray a couple of times. You can also spray water into the air first, then move your image through to make sure the stamp doesn’t get too wet. Stamp image on cardstock.

This was a new technique for me and I love the look of this. I do like how the images looks like I did some watercoloring.

Stamp Set: Close As A Memory

Artifacts Birthday

Here is another masculine card I did. This uses the retired set Artifacts. I think this set is a good set for men. I also used some retired in colors from last year.

Stamp Sets: Artifacts, Warm Regards, Canvas
Cardstock: Bravo Burgandy, True Thyme, Buckaroo Blue, Sahara Sand, Confetti White
Ink: Bravo Burgandy, Buckaroo Blue, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Linen Thread, Vintage Brads

Sorry I didn't update the accessories list this weekend. We have dial up at home and it takes forever to move anywhere. I finally got frustrated and shut down for the night. The list is now updated and is located under SU! Specials. A lot of the papers are starting to go. Don't let your's slip away. These are available until August 10 or until they are sold out.

Happy stamping!!

Friends

Good afternoon stampers!

Instead of trying to link the accessories list everyday, I put a link under the Stampin' Up! Specials. I will still update it everyday so to see what is already gone, just go to the Discontinued Accessories link.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and stamp some new cards so while digging through some old cards, I found this one. This is a card I did at a workshop about a year ago using one of my favorite stamp sets!

Stamp Set: Simply Said
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip stamp pad, So Saffron marker
Accessories: 1/8" Hole Punch, Chocolate Chip Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon

I'm beginning to think that Chocolate Chip is my favorite color too! The last three card posts have all had Chocolate Chip in them. It's one of those browns that goes with almost everything. I think I need to step out and try something new!

Happy stamping!

Love Card

OK...I'm not too sure about this card. One of the type of cards I have the most difficult time with is masculine cards. Especially when it comes to love/anniversary cards. I joined this swap and trying to come up with an idea hasn't been easy. It's not the best but it works.

Stamp Set: Seeing Spots, Taggers Dozen
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Small and Large Tag Punch, Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon

The accessories list has been updated and I'm sad to say that all the hodgepodge hardware is sold out!!! It's not hard to believe it sold out so fast considering it's retiring and it was on sale. Don't let the others slip away before it's too late.

Happy stamping!!

Birthday ATC

As you know, I'm addicted to swaps so I joined an ATC swap. An ATC (Artist Trading Card) is a small version of a card. They measure 3 1/2 x 2 1/2. Most people use them as cards and trade just like you would any kind of trading cards. You can also use them to add to a card.

This swap is a monthly swap and every month has a different theme. This month's theme was birthdays. Here is what I came up with. Not much to it. I did end up using a few punches.

I didn't know if these two colors would work together but I do like how it came out. I had to find a way to use up my Wasabi cardstock and striped ribbon.

Stamp Set: Priceless, Hugs & Wishes
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1/16" Hole Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Silver Brads, Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon, Dimensionals

Discontinued Accessories List

The list has been updated. I'll continue to update it daily so come back and check back to see what is gone. If there is an accessory you want, don't wait too long to get it because it might be gone.

Happy stamping!!

Sympathy

I always like to go to a fellow demonstrators stamp class because 1) I get class ideas, and 2) I don't have to prepare anything. I try to attend as many of their events as possible. I always come away with class ideas and projects.

This card was done at a 10 for $15 class given by Linda McWhorter. I loved the colors used on this card. Though I hate to use these type of cards, it's always handy to have one available just in case.

For the main image, we inked it up once and then stamped off on to the sides. Then we just stamped the words and added the ribbon with a glue dot. The ribbon is just tied in a knot.

Doodle Birthday

Alright stampers! This is the last of my swaps. This swap was for birthday cards. Now...I did this card awhile back for my techniques class but I decided to change it up a bit. You can see the original card here .

I used glossy cardstock like the original but colored in the flowers using Pretty in Pink and So Saffron markers. I liked how this turned out. It was simple which is how I like them.

Stamp Set: Doodle This, Happy Everything
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Black, Glossy White
Ink: Black Stazon, Pretty in Pink stamp pad and marker, So Saffron marker
Accessories: Whisper White Narrow Grosgrain, Pink Gingham

I guess I better get busy stamping some cards because I've run out stuff to show you. I hope to begin working on some other projects and share those with you soon. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you get some inspiration from the things I show you. We're just a little over three weeks before the new catalog comes out. Reserve your copy today!

Happy stamping!!

Fabulous Flowers

This was for another swap I joined. It was called Fabulous Flowers. I took a picture of this from a fellow demo from a demo training so I don't have a name of who I copied this from. I did change a couple of things so I didn't totally copy it.

Stamp Set: Simply Said
Cardstock: Real Red, Kraft, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Black, Real Red pad and marker
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Red Gingham Ribbon, Tag Corner Punch

As always, thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!!

Technique Tuesday

Welcome to techniques Tuesday!

I hope this will be a weekly feature so make sure you come back to see more techniques.

This week we will look at the emerging color technique. We did this technique in my April class. I actually had never heard of this technique until I went to a techniques class myself. It's very cool! I even broke out my rhinestone brads for this card!!!

Here's how it works. Stamp smaller solid stamps in lighter colors all over cardstock. Ink main image with Versamark and stamp over smaller images. Pour clear embossing powder over Versamarked image and tap off excess powder. Use heat tool to melt the embossing powder. Ink your brayer with a darker ink and apply ink to entire cardstock piece. Take a paper towel and wipe ink off of embossed.

If you decide to try it, email me (krfrank03@yahoo.com) your creation. I would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Refuge & Strength

Good afternoon! I hope you all had a great weekend! I know I enjoyed it. I had my techniques class Friday night. Those are always so much fun. I'll share those cards later this week. Not much going on Saturday and Sunday was church. Overall it was a quiet weekend. Now on to the card for the day...

This was another swap I joined entitled Friendship & Faith. This was a neat swap because what was required was to use a scripture or phrase or image. I don't really have any religious stamps so this is a set I borrowed from my best friend, Darla. It came out last year in the Fall-Winter Catalog and is entitled Refuge & Strength. I had no idea of what I was going to do but I do like the end result.

Stamp Set: Refuge & Strength
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon

Well, we have a little less than a month before the new catalog comes out. If you haven't reserved your copy yet, do it soon! If you reserve your copy by July 25th, you will receive a $5 off coupon plus 6 months worth of coupons. You can reserve your copy for $9.95 so do it today! You don't want to miss out on the catalog!

Sympathy

OK...I must confess something. I am swap junkie!! I joined this Yahoo! group and they had a bunch of swaps going on. I join 11 of them!!! There was so many more I wanted to join but knew I just couldn't get them done. Out of the 11, I finished up 7 of them and had to drop 4 of them. I'll be sharing some of those cards with you.

This swap was for sympathy cards. You never know when you are going to need one of these. I can't remember where I got this idea from. I would have never put these colors together. They sure do look good though. What do you think?

Stamp Set: Close As A Memory
Cardstock: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Bravo Burgundy markers
Accessories: Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon

Tonight is my techniques class. I was up late last night trying to get everything together. I'm such a procrastinator! I had to scratch one technique because it wasn't coming out right. Good thing I was able to find something quick to replace it. I'll post pictures next week of the techniques. As I was going through my technique pictures, I noticed that I haven't shared the last two classes so I'll be posting those soon too.

Happy stamping!

Embrace Life

I was playing around with one of my new stamp sets - Embrace Life. This was actually a card I was going to do for a swap. The criteria for this swap was to use a current set that was not going to be retired in the new upcoming catalog. Also, we couldn't use the in-colors because they will be retiring in August.

I found a card I did awhile back and used the same layout and colors but just changed the stamp set. I thought it came out really well.

On this card I had originally sponged the coral around the ages but I thought it was too much color so I did another one and used the blush around the edges. I think it came out a little better.

Stamp Set: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink: Cameo Coral, Blush Blossim, Sage Shadow
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Blender Pens, Sponges

As always, thanks for stopping by! Stamp a card for a loved one today!

Black & White #2

Alright...as promised, this is the 2nd version of the black and white Baroque I did. I really like the look of this one. I think the swirl adds a little elegancy to it. Plus, you can use just about any type of word to put in the oval. I love this card.

Stamp Set: Baroque Motifs
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Black
Accessories: Large and Small Oval Punch, 1/8" Hole Punch, Black Grosgrain Ribbon

I've got lots more to show so come back tomorrow!!

Happy stamping!
