Another Swap

I must say I must be a glutton for punishment because I participated in a huge swap in August. I did this swap last year, and after I had to make 100+ card fronts, I swore I wasn't going to do it again. But when I saw the post, I couldn't resist. I SIGNED UP AGAIN!!! Not only did I decided to do card fronts but I also decided to do 6x6 scrapbook pages. Luckily, there wasn't alot of those to do (only 46) but there were 100+ card fronts. After stamping the flower in two colors thousands of time, my arm was so sore.

I took the idea from one of my downline's, Darla, card. She used the Delight in Life stamp set with wide white organdy ribbon. It looked so simple and pretty. Here's her card (sorry for the bad scan).

Here's my finished product!

Stamp Set: Bud Basics, Wonderful Words
Paper: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Confetti White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon

Give Thanks

I've been doing pretty good with my blogging these last couple of weeks. I hope that this will continue!

Just to let you know about a couple of stamping events coming up...

My monthly Techniques Class will be Friday, October 12 at the home of Stacy. We've already learned 6 techniques and will learn 3 more. This is getting more and more fun! When I did my first class, I started with the easy ones because I know how to do those but now I'm starting to venture into some new techniques. I hope that you will join us!!

Then on Saturday, October 27, I will be having a Christmas gift stamp camp. Each individual will leave with 4-5 different projects to make. There will be a name frame, a coaster calendar, gift box and 1-2 more projects. More info is available at my website so check it out.

And now for my card...this was a card I did for a swap. I'm not really happy with it because it seems to plain. After I put 13 of these together, I got some ideas on how I should have spruced it up some but I waited to long to get this started. Enjoy!

Stamp Set: Give Thanks
Paper: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Confetti White

Viola

This is one of the projects we made at our August stamp club meeting. It's a birthday card with a tear off recipe. We used the cutter kit for the perforation.

Stamp Set: Viola
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, markers
Accessories: Cutter Kit

The cutters kit is a cool little tool. You can do so much with it. It has a rotary cutter, perforating tool, scoring tool and a distressing tool (the best thing ever!!). If you have the tool or have one, the distressing tool is round and has 7 slots. There are difference in the slots...they are all the same. I love this tool because you distress as little or as much as you want. If you don't have, get one!!

Have a great evening!

Dane Ashton Frank

My new nephew, arrived Friday, September 21 at 6:54 a.m. He came in to the world weighing 3 lbs. 6 oz. and is 16 in. long. He is 2 months early but Mom and baby are doing good. She had been having trouble with her blood pressure and was on complete bed rest. I'm not really sure when he will be able to come home but as you can see in the picture, he looks good. Mom will be coming home either today or tomorrow.

I ask that you please keep them in your prayers. It's going to be hard for them to leave him at the hospital when they go home.

The other pictures are a couple of cards my ladies did from my stamp club. Their "homework" every month is to make a card with a certain theme. This way they are stamping outside of the club meetings and being creative. This month our theme was birthdays. Thanks Valorie and Susie for your contribution!! Sorry for the bad scans!! :-(

Gum Holder

This is one of the projects we made in stamp club last month. It's a gum holder. Thanks goes to Erika Martin for her directions. She is very creative. Check out her website here.

Stamp Set: Priceless
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, Confetti White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon

For the gum, I just used Orbit gum. This would work with most packaged gum like this.

Enjoy!

Techniques Class

These technique classes have been fun to do! It gets me out of my comfort zone to try something new. All these cards have been copied from several demonstrators so thank you to you all for your ideas.

Technique #1 - Baby Wipes

I like this technique but I think it would have been better with darker colors. I used colors from the soft subtles because that is all I had.

Stamp Sets: Bud Basics, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Whisper White, Glossy White
Ink: Mellow Moss stamp pad, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amythest reinkers

Technique #2 - Crayon Resist

Stamp Sets: Happy Everything, Doodle This
Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Glossy White
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, Regal Rose
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Pink Gingham, Brayer, white crayons

Technique #3 - Kissing Technique

Stamp Set: All About You
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip

I hope that you will be able to join me in my next class on Friday, October 12. Check out my Stampin' Up! website for more details!

Sorry...

Hey all!! Sorry I haven't been keeping current with my blog. I had hope to post something new on a weekly basis but haven't had much luck. I also hoped that with the blog it would get me to stamp more but it hasn't!! :-(

I wanted to share with you a holiday card I made for a swap. It looks a little plain to me...I think it could use something else but I don't know what. What do you think? I would love to hear from you what you think you make it a little better. If you come to my Christmas stamp-a-stack, this will be one of the cards we will make. Hopefully inspiration might strike me and I'll see what's missing from it.

Stamp Sets: Snow Flurries, Happy Everything
Paper: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Versamark
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

It's hard to see the glitter that's on it from the powder but I promise it looks good. What's neat about the powder is you don't have to worry about it rubbing off like you would with dazzling diamonds.

Friday I had my 2nd techniques class. I had a lot better turn out for this one. I'll share with you tomorrow what we did.

Then tonight I have my stamp club meeting so I'll be sharing what we made this month and last month in the days to come. Thanks for looking!!
