July VC Rocks Blog Hop

It's that time again...time again for another blog hop. I'm so glad you are here! You should have arrived here from Barb Furlong's blog. If you ever get lost on the tour, you can always go back to the starting point...the VC Rocks blog. There are 35 stops and this month we are featuring ABC projects (anything but a card)!

I mostly make cards so I hardly venture out to do other projects. I am a scrapbooker at heart so when I do venture out, I make projects to include pictures. This month's project is a mini scrapbook I did at stamp club. The original project was more vintage looking. Come back next week and I'll share pictures of it.

About a month ago we had VBS (Vacation Bible School) at church. I wanted something bright to show off the pictures so I used the SAB scrapping kit. On to the project...

1. Take 2 sheets of Melon Mambo and cut 1 piece at 12" x 5" and 2 pieces at 12" x 4 3/4".

2. Score the 12x5 piece at 2 1/2", 3", 8", 8 1/2". Go ahead and fold the creases and put aside.

3. Score the other 2 pieces at 4 3/4" and 9 1/2". When you fold these pieces, fold it moutain and then valley. I hope this makes sense.

4. Adhere the small flap to the inside of the bigger piece. (Of the bigger piece, the smaller flap is the top of the book.).

5. Take 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" Daffodil Delight and cover seams. Then take 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Whisper White and place on top DD piece.

6. For the other panels I used Pacific Point and Old Olive cut to 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". Then decorate as desired.

7. Fold in panels and close book. For the bottom of the book, I used a 4 1/2" x 3" piece of designed paper.

8. Once closed, you can decorate the front. I used the stickers from the kit to decorate. I used a 12" x 1 1/8" Melon Mambo piece with a 12" piece of white satin ribbon for a belly band. I didn't score it. I just folded it along the outside and creased it. I glued the end pieces together.

9. For the centerpiece, I punched a large scallop circle out of Pacific Point and then punched 1 3/4" circle from a piece of designer paper. Adhered that to the scallop circle and then adhered the whole piece to the belly band with dimensionals. I then added some rhinestones.

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Whisper White, Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Large Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones

This was a fun project to make!!! Sorry I didn't have pictures inside...time got away from me! I would love to hear your comments so please leave me one! For more fun projects, continue to the next stop of the blog hop by visiting Angela Walters's blog.

Happy stamping!!!
