VC Rocks Blog Hop #3

Welcome to Stamping Fun with Kim...your next stop in the VC Rocks blog hop. You most likely must have joined me from Angela's blog. If you are joining part-way thru the hop or get lost, just go to the starting point which is the VCRocks home page.

This month on our blog hop we are to feature items from the New Catalog, Summer Mini... or anything SU!. I haven't purchased any new sets from the catalog YET but I did get the new colors.

This month's project is a little photo wallet I did with my stamp club a couple of years ago. A friend of mine had two daughters graduating the same year (one from high school and one from college) and she did these up in their school colors and added their pictures inside with some journaling.

Supplies Needed:
Stamp Set: Baroque Motifs
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Night of Navy
Accessories: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Metallic Brads

1. Cut Daffodil Delight to 4" x 11". Score at 1 3/4", 2", 5" and 8".

2. For the panels (Night of Navy, Early Espresso, Old Olive), cut to 7 1/2" x 2 3/4". Score in half at 3 3/4".

3. For the journaling blocks (Very Vanilla), cut 3 panels to 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".

4. Stamp one side of the wallet with the motif using Daffodil Delight. Optional: You can round the corners if you like.

5. Adhere the inside panels, alternating directions. I stamp on the top panels using coordinting inks. This is optional.

6. Attach the journal blocks to the outside panels.

7. Fold up wallet.

8. Cut the belly band (Cherry Cobbler) to 8" x 1". Once you wrap around the wallet, you may want to cut off excess. You may also want to put a little adhesive to keep close. Slide off.

9. Using an Early Espresso scrap, punch out a 2 3/8" scallop circle punch. Then stamp image on a scrap piece and punch out with the 1 3/8" scallop circle punch. Adhere to the Espresso piece.

10. Using a paper piercer, I pierced a hole in the center of the scallops. I then eyeballed the center of the belly band with the 1/16" hole punch and then attached the scallops to the belly band by using a pewter brad from the metallic brads.

11. Slide back on to your wallet. Then add your photos and journaling.

I hope you enjoyed today's project. Leave me a comment of your favorite new item(s) in the catalog and the winner, by random drawing, will receive this photo wallet.

For more fun stuff, continue to the next stop of the blog hop by visiting Kristin's blog.

Happy stamping!!!

Ok, pays to read all the words, my favs from the new catty are Aviary and the coffee one, whose name escapes me at the moment, and of course, the owl punch.
