June VC Rocks Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another VC Rocks Blog Hop. I'm so glad you are here! You should have arrived here from Debbie Martin's blog. If you ever get lost on the tour, you can always go back to the starting point...the VC Rocks blog. This month we are featuring cards and projects made using the Big Shot!

This month I decided to showcase my favorite die...the top note die.

This first project is really simple. I call it a gift card holder because it can hold a gift card and is perfect for any occassion. There really isn't much to this.

1. Using the top note die, cut out three pieces. I used Blushing Bride cardstock and a piece from the Designed Series Paper Pack - In Color (hostess gift - level 1).

2. Adhere the DSP on to one of the BB pieces and folded it down. I used a Filigree Designer Brad to hold it down. Then I glued both pieces together using Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Make sure the glues is just around the edges.

3. Punch out the following: Small Oval Punch - Confetti White, Large Oval Punch - Pear Pizzazz, Scallop Oval Punch - Early Expresso. Using All Holidays, I stamped the greeting in Early Expresso, adhered all the pieces together and then the final piece onto the folded piece. I also added some pearls to dress it up.

Stamps: All Holiday
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Early Expresso, Pear Pizzazz, Confetti White
Ink: Early Expresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Basic Pearls

My next project is a box I've seen around on many blogs. It makes a nice gift box.

1. You need two 3 3/4" x 5" pieces of cardstock (Wild Wasabi).

2. Lay piece on Top Note die lining up the long side just inside of the perforation marks. Run through the Big Shot and decorate as you wish.

3. For the inside box piece (Chocolate Chip), score your 5 1/2" x 8" piece of cardstock on its long side at 1", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", and 7".

4. Turn cardstock piece and score short side at 1" and 4 ½".

5. Cut scored lines as shown, up to the 1" score line to make the box tabs.

6. Turn the box over and apply Sticky Strip to the right side of the tabs, as shown.

7. Tuck flaps in and assemble box as shown.

8. Attach Sticky Strip tape to the top and bottom of the box and attach cardstock pieces, lining up the straight edges with the side spine of the box as shown.

9. Attach a small piece of Sticky Strip tape to the side spine of the box.

10. Attach ribbon to Sticky Strip to keep it in place.

11. Tie ribbon and decorate your front.

Stamps: Time-Well Spent
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi, Confetti White
Ink: Basic Brown, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Markers - Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Wide Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon
