VC Rocks Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to your next stop on the VC Rocks Blog Hop. VC Rocks has officially opened and we are hitting the ground running. We've already been challenged, getting our swaps ready and now it's time to blog hop. This month's theme is Color My World. We must use some type of coloring technique - markers, brayer, water color crayons, etc. for our project(s).

There are 30 stops for this tour so be prepared to see some great artwork and be inspired by fabulous project ideas. It promises to be a great tour!

If you're already on the tour, you probably arrived here from the VC Rocks blog which has Debbie's project. If you ever get lost on the tour, you can always go back to the starting point...the VC Rocks blog. Now on to my project...

I did this recently at my techniques class. It's embossed pastels. I did case this from Andrea Walford...changing a couple of things.

1. Fold 4 1/4" x 11" black cardstock in half for card base.

2. Take 4" x 5 1/2" Pink Pirouette piece and emboss with the square lattice embossing folder. Trim it so that it is 4" x 5 1/4". Stick to the black card base.

3. Take 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" Rose Red piece and punch one edge with the scallop trim border and stick it behind the right edge of 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" Sweet & Sour DSP so that about 1/4" of the scalloped border is showing. Stick this to the Pink Pirouette about 3/8" away from the right edge.

4. Stamp the flower image from the Just Believe stamp set with versamark on to the 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" black piece. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Color using a blender pen and the following Stampin' Pastel colors: Garden Green and Rose Red. Center and stick this piece to the 3" x 4 1/2" Garden Green piece and then stick this to the card front.

5. Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of white cardstock. Punch it out with the Decorative Label punch. Add a basic rhinestone on either side of the greeting and stick to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamps: Just Believe
Cardstock: Basic Black, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Whisper White, Sweet & Sour DSP
Ink: Versamark, Black, Stampin' Pastels
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border punch, Decorative Label punch, Square Lattice embossing folder, basic rhinestones, White embossing powder, blender pens

I hoped you enjoyed the project. It was fun creating it! For more fun projects, continue to the next stop of the blog hop by visiting Paper Castles, Lori Palmer's blog.

Masculine Card

It's Thursday and tomorrow is Friday the 13th!! I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday!

Today's share is a masculine card I did with my monthly club. It's always hard for me to do masculine cards. I did see this card on another blog but I don't remember where. I bought this motorcycle stamp just for my husband because he loves motorcycles and plus I thought I could make some nice men cards with it. This one was very easy to do. On to the card...

Stamp Set: Motorcycle, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Early Expresso, Pacific Point, Very Vanilla
Ink: Brown Stazon, Pacific Point marker
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Silver Brads

I hope that you will come back this weekend because I'll be participating in a blog hop. I'm part of a stamping group called VC Rocks and we only meet during the summer. We kicked off another summer of swaps, blogs and so much more in April with new members able to join now. I'll tell you more about it Saturday when our blog hop officially kicks off. I hope to see you on the hop!!

Happy stamping!!!

Sweet and Sour

If you are still blogging with me, you will notice I changed it up a bit. It's a freebie but I love the colors of it!! Hope you enjoy it too!

In November I went on a stamping retreat. I was there for 3 days and didn't get a whole lot done. I spent one whole day reading a book. It was a nice feeling to do that. I did stamp for a little while on Saturday. This is one of my creations...though I can't take full credit for the design. I CASEd the idea from Gretchen Barron. I love her blog!!!

Anyway, I used the Sweet & Sour Designer Paper and I love the colors that are used in this. I hope you enjoy the card!!

Stamp Set: Holidays & Wishes
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Scallop Edge Border, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Basic Pearls
