Eastern Blooms

I'm in a monthly swap and for the month of June the theme was birthdays. I decided to play with a set I've had for a while...Eastern Blooms. This is not a set I would have purchased just by looking at it but I've seen alot of cute camples using it.

I saw this design on the demo's stamping connection website and I modified it some. I added the dazzling diamonds though I don't know if you can tell from the pictures.

You know when you color with the markers on the first one, it always looks like a good idea until you have to do multiple copies. Luckily, I only had to do 7!

Stamp Sets: Eastern Blooms, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink stamp pads and markers
Accessories: 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds

Just a reminder that today is the last day to purchase anything from 09-10 SU! catalog! Tomorrow the new catalog comes out with a whole lot of new ideas. I'm looking for some hostesses so if you would be interested in hosting a party, please let me know. I would love to show you and your friends the wonderful art of stamping!

Happy stamping!!

VC Rocks Blog Hop #2

Welcome to Stamping Fun with Kim...your next stop in the VC Rocks blog hop. You most likely must have joined me from Alexandria Snider's blog. If you are joining part-way thru the hop or get lost, just go to the starting point which is the VCRocks home page.

This month our blog hop is suppose to feature something retiring, something from the summer mini, or a sneak peek. Since I don't have anything from the latter two, I'm going to share something that is retiring.

I did this card at one of my technique classes. It's called the shattered glass technique. I cased the idea from Dawn Griffith's blog. Sorry for the glare on the picture.

1. I put strips of masking tape on a piece of glossy cardstock (hence the glare). You can choose the way you put the tape on. I did it criss cross.

2. Using Green Galore and Pink Passion, I daubered (is that a word?) color patches on the cardstock.

3. I used the Embrace Life stamp set and randomly stamped images on it with Black Stazon.

4. Pull off the tape and you should have white portions not stamped on.

5. I then adhere the glossy onto a Green Galore piece and then adhere it to my card base (5 1/2 x 4 1/4 - Pink Passion).

6. For the flower, I used regular white cardstock and used the daubers again to put color on the flower.

7. I then cut the flower out and put in a clear rhinestone brad and attached the flower to the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's project. For more fun stuff, continue to the next stop of the blog hop by visiting Diana Clark-Sutton's blog.
